Urban Planning & Design

Urban planning is a technical and political process concerned with the control of the use of land and design of the urban environment, including transportation networks, to guide the orderly development of communities. This involves research and analysis, strategic thinking, design, public outreach, policy recommendations and management. The process includes strategic and comprehensive plans, master-planned communities and regulatory strategies.

Urban Design ventures at a scale level between architecture and urban planning. It addresses the interrelation between a group of buildings, streets and public spaces and aims at optimizing their functionality, attractiveness and sustainability. Urban Planning, transportation policy, architecture, engineering and landscaping are being merged in order to generate a vision for an area and in order to bring this vision to life.
